Corona - immediate aid for clinics
The Covid-19 pandemic hit the world in 2020 and posed a huge medical challenge for clinics. Since medicine is one of the focal points of the work of the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation, the foundation's activities were also heavily influenced by Corona. That is why the clinics with which the foundation had already implemented other projects received quick and unbureaucratic immediate aid for flexible use.
„We have been working closely with the various clinics for many years, for example in the Stuttgart Cancer Center. It goes without saying that we also help in the current emergency situation.“
All houses - in Stuttgart the municipal clinic, Robert Bosch hospital and Marienhospital as well as the Rems Murr clinics and the clinics in Southeast Bavaria - invested in the development of test capacities. The Stuttgart houses also used the funds for protective equipment, spatial changes and aids for old people's and nursing homes in the area.
The Kliniken Südostbayern set up their own pandemic laboratory with the support of the foundation. The Rems-Murr-Kliniken also expanded their capacities for corona rapid tests and, with the support of the foundation, procured diagnostic devices.
