The Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation is one of the large charitable foundations in Germany. Abiding by the founders’ views and vision, it is committed to practical social responsibility. “Our credo is to work for a better world, in which physical and mental health as well as a strong sense of sustainable responsibility for the environment are seen as important values by all citizens”, says Eva Mayr-Stihl. “Something that means a lot to me: I want to give something back to the region in which I have my roots.” For this reason Waiblingen and Stuttgart are a geographical focus of the foundation’s work. As a nonprofit and self-determined organization the foundation employs its funds for the benefit of society. The orientation framework for its actions are transparency and the principles of good foundation practices laid down by the Federal Association of German Foundations.
