100.000 Euro of funding for the Traunstein Hospital

The Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation is supporting the Traunstein Hospital with EUR 100,000. At the official hand-over in the Traunstein Regional Administrator's office, the donor and chairperson of the foundation board, Eva Mayr-Stihl, outlined which topics are of particular interest to her: "Medicine is one of the three focal points of our foundation work." She stressed the meaning of access to medical care especially in more rural areas. "Since I myself was born at the Traunstein Hospital, it is a great pleasure for me to be able to support my old home region," added her husband and Foundation Board Member Robert Mayr. The Traunstein District Administrator Siegfried Walch was delighted with the extraordinarily large donation: "With the generous support of the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation, we can continue our clear course for the people in the region - because especially in rural areas, investing in digitization is key to progressive health care."

The money will be used to support the medical digitization offensive in the clinics of Southeast Bavaria. Processes will be simplified, employees
relieved and at the same time patient safety further increased. Specifically, the funding of the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation is being invested in a new System that automatically records, documents and digitally saves the patients' vital signs (including blood pressure, heart rate and temperature), which are measured several times a day. The nurses of the clinics extrapolate more than 18,000 hours during the year and can thus gain significantly more time for a more individualized care of their patients. The Chairman of the Board of the Kliniken Südostbayern AG, Dr. Ing. Uwe Gretscher, said at the occasion: "Thanks to the generous support by the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation we, too, can take a big step towards the 'Smart Hospital'. Everyone in everyday clinical care benefits from this. Especially in the healthcare sector, time gained by humans is so precious and beneficial
to health."
