Andreas Hesky new chairman of the board of trustees of the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation

Andreas Hesky will take over as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation from April 1, 2022. Gerhard Wirth.

Hesky was Lord Mayor of Waiblingen for 16 years. His second term ended on March 13; he had decided against another candidacy. "I'm looking forward to the new challenge," said Hesky at the handover. "Even if it's not a full-time job, I will now put some of my energy into the service of the foundation."

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees is an important contact person for the founders and makes his knowledge and expertise available for the foundation's work. His duties include chairing the regular meetings.

The Board of Trustees is currently advising the Executive Board on the performance of its duties. Should none of the founders belong to the active board of directors, the body receives more far-reaching powers. As a supervisory body, it will be responsible, among other things, for appointing the members of the Executive Board.

The renowned lawyer Dr. Gerhard Wirth had headed the Board of Trustees since it was founded in 2010. The founders Eva Mayr-Stihl and Robert Mayr thanked him warmly for his work: “Dr. Gerhard Wirth made a major contribution to developing the foundation into what it is today. He gave us comprehensive legal advice, further developed the foundation's structures and was also involved in supporting individual projects - for example at the International Song Art Competition in Stuttgart. We expressly thank Dr. Wirth and remain on friendly terms with him. As a partner at Gleiss Lutz Stuttgart, Gerhard Wirth was regularly included in the rankings of the best lawyers. His areas of expertise were mergers and acquisitions, insurance and corporate law.
