Deutschlandstipendien 2021 awarded at the University of Freiburg

At a face-to-face event in the Rectorate of the University of Freiburg on October 19, 2021, the Germany Scholarships were awarded to students of the University of Freiburg. The Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation provides a total of nine of them, especially for students of forest and environmental sciences and the technical faculty. Prof. Dr. Michael Schwarze, Vice-Rector for Studies and Teaching, emphasized the performance of the students: "You all achieved excellent results, although you had to overcome personal hurdles on the side, for example caring for a relative, or volunteering in various ways." Schwarze called for the Germany Scholarships to be made better known and for further sponsors to be found - the federal budget was not yet exhausted.

The basic idea of the Germany Scholarship is to recognize outstanding achievements by committed students and to contribute to the promotion of the skilled workers of tomorrow. Private sponsors and the federal government each assume half of the scholarship amount. The Deutschlandstipendium has been around for ten years. The recipients in Freiburg also benefit from non-material and networking support measures such as workshops, seminars and mentoring programs.
