Panel discussion on the occasion of the book presentation "10 years Galerie Stihl Waiblingen"

The municipal gallery Stihl Waiblingen: a real success story - so the panelists Robert Mayr (Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation), Ines Dietze (CEO Kreissparkasse Waiblingen), Klaus Denk and Dr. Hansjörg Thomae (both Society for the promotion of the Gallery) and Mayor of Waiblingen Andreas Hesky agreed. The head of the gallery, Dr. Barbara Martin, moderated the round and asked the participants about their personal experiences and impressions in retrospect on 10 years of gallery history. She was surprised by the extraordinary architecture of the gallery, Ines Dietze remebered about her first tour through the city when she first came here two years ago. Klaus Denk, as a former Waibling construction mayor, gave a comprehensive overview of how the idea as well as the implementation of the plan for the gallery and art school came about. It was precisely this combination of gallery and art school, added Mayor Hesky, other gallery sites in the region envied. Because it offers numerous opportunities, among other things, to introduce young people to the arts. Robert Mayr was proud to announce that the foundations financial contribution had sparked the decision to implement the plan and added, "In the meantime, the gallery has become a jewel that brings many visitors to the city."

The richly illustrated anniversary volume impressively illustrates the first ten years of gallery work and reviews the exhibitions from Rembrandt and Dürer to John Cage, from fashion paper to cardboard furniture. All exhibition highlights, but also behind the scenes pictures and all sorts of anecdotes from the history of the gallery are included in the volume.
The anniversary publication is available at the price of € 20,- at the gallery box office and can be ordered by telephone (07151-50011685) or by e-mail (bettina.mann@waiblingen.de).
