Ten years of Stuttgart Cancer Center - Tumor Center Eva Mayr-Stihl
"10 years Stuttgart Cancer Center - State-of-the-art tumor medicine at the Stuttgart Clinic" - under this heading, the Stuttgart Cancer Center - Tumor Center Eva Mayr-Stihl (SCC) invited to an online event on February 3rd, 2022, which also served as a prelude to World Cancer Day on 4.2.
Prof. Dr. Gerald Illerhaus, Medical Director of the Stuttgart Cancer Center and Head of the Oncology Center, welcomed the more than 100 guests who were online and reported on the latest developments in cancer medicine. Then Cornelia Schatton introduced the office as a contact for patients and their relatives. She explained the supporting offers such as art or music therapy, Qi Gong, meditation or sports offers. Social counseling and psycho-oncological support options were also presented.
In addition to members of the SCC performance committee, including Prof. Dr. Gabriele Pöpperl, Medical Director of the Clinic for Nuclear Medicine, Priv. Dr. Claudia Blattmann, Medical Director of Pediatrics 5 - Oncology, Hematology, Immunology and Prof. Dr. Marc Münter, deputy head of the Stuttgart Cancer Center and the Oncological Center as well as Medical Director of the Clinic for Radiation Therapy and Radiation Oncology, other well-known representatives of the specialist areas at the Klinikum Stuttgart that are often affected by the topic of cancer, namely Prof. Dr. Christian Knop, Medical Director of the Clinic for Trauma Surgery and Orthopedics, Prof. Dr. Jörg Köninger, Medical Director of the Clinic for General, Visceral, Thoracic and Transplantation Surgery, Prof. Dr. Götz Martin Richter, Medical Director of the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and Dr. Katharina Sawallich, Senior Physician at the Center for Dermatology, Phlebology and Allergology. The participants presented how the various specialist areas work together to ensure optimal patient care and what further developments there have been in recent years since the Stuttgart Cancer Center - Tumor Center Eva Mayr-Stihl was founded.
