Topping-out ceremony for new Remsaue daycare centre
The next milestone for the new Remsaue municipal day care centre has been reached: Lord Mayor Sebastian Wolf, the Chairman of the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation Robert Mayr and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Andreas Hesky, Mayor Dieter Schienmann and the architects Alexander Wendlik and Zlatko Antolovic celebrated the topping-out ceremony with the employees of the trades involved.
Lord Mayor Sebastian Wolf praised the construction progress: "We are delighted that the topping-out ceremony for the new daycare centre can now be celebrated and that the construction work is progressing well thanks to the planners, craftsmen and construction companies involved. The daycare centre will offer very good conditions for child-friendly care. Our heartfelt thanks go to the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation for its extremely generous support of this project."
Robert Mayr was also visibly pleased: "In my youth, I earned money for my studies working in construction. That's why I appreciate solid craftsmanship and am delighted that the city is organising this event for the trades. The first part of the ensemble of day care centre and subsidised housing has taken shape. Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to its success." He presented the Lord Mayor with a box of toys for the new daycare centre.
Zlatko Antolovic from the architectural firm COAST explained the special features of the building and said: "It's great to be able to be part of the creation of this daycare centre as an architect. A contemporary, sustainable building with a modern timber construction and energy concept, with great child-friendly rooms, plenty of natural daylight and a healthy indoor climate. A thoroughly beautiful place that will be filled with life by children and will also have a significant positive impact on them in the future. There is nothing more sustainable than such an investment in the future. We would like to thank everyone involved for making this possible."
One of the "fathers" of the project was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation, Andreas Hesky. As Lord Mayor, he had convinced the founder Robert Mayr to support the ensemble of daycare centre and subsidised housing in Schorndorfer Straße. He said: "Since the ground-breaking ceremony, I have repeatedly visited the construction site and have been delighted to see how the daycare centre is taking shape, growing and becoming a beautiful place where children will find security, warmth and support on their own journey through life. This is just as important to the town as it is to the foundation. A heartfelt word of thanks to everyone involved for their good work."
The building owner and operator of the daycare centre is the city of Waiblingen, while the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation has supported the construction with four million euros. The new daycare centre will have four groups. It will offer 60 places for children over 3 years old and 10 places for children under 3 years old.
