WE ARE THE FUTURE Festival 2024

The kick-off on Friday evening was moved to the Kulturhaus Schwanen without further ado due to the storm. There, the fans celebrated with the acts Zweifel, Savvy and Apsilon and ‘rocked the house’. Saturday and Sunday were then able to take place in beautiful weather with a relaxed summer feeling at the Skatebowl and on the neighbouring indoor swimming pool car park.

Over 4,200 visitors enjoyed the wide range of activities on offer at the 15 hands-on stations and the stage programme. Following the successful launch of the 2023 festival with 3,000 visitors, the number of visitors to the second edition far exceeded the organisers' expectations.

From sport to dance, fashion, art and music, the festival had everything the young and young-at-heart could desire. This diversity made the festival a celebration for the whole family and enabled children and young people, parents and grandparents to enjoy shared experiences.

The new facilities such as the beach volleyball court, the soccer and basketball court were enthusiastically received. At times there were even long queues, for example at the climbing tower, the pop-up fashion workshop of the Unteres Remstal art school or the wood workshop of Cuba Skate. On Saturday evening, newcomer Ellice and top act Lostboi Lino thrilled the audience on the live stage.

The city of Waiblingen would like to thank all participants and co-operation partners as well as the Rems-Murr district, the Kreissparkassenstiftung Waiblingen für Gesundheit und Bildung and the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation for their funding and support.
