Grand State Exhibition: The Swabians. Between Myth and Brand

What is typically Swabian? What do the Swabians stand for? These and similar questions were investigated by the Grand State Exhibition: “The Swabians. Between Myth and Brand” in the Württemberg State Museum. It presented the changing images of Swabians, political, religious and economic developments as well as outstanding historical personalities. Eva Mayr-Stihl was impressed by the concept: “We are used to the high quality of the exhibitions staged by the State Museum and were therefore very willing to support a regional theme. After all, the exhibition revealed the characteristic features – but also the peculiarities – of Swabian culture. A subject that is very close to my Swabian heart.”
